Religion
Even though Gambia is a predominantly Muslim, with up to 90%
of the population practicing Islam, it is considered as a very tolerant country
of all religious beliefs. The remaining 10% is a mix of Christians and other
localized traditional religions. Islam came to this part of West Africa across
the Sahara early in the second millennium and quickly became a commanding
influence with most of the population converting. Here is a picture of a
